Dr. Nunes grew up in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan and graduated in 2007 from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland with a B.A. degree in Public Health. Prior to enrolling at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, he earned his certificate in radiology and worked as a dental assistant at So Others Might Eat (SOME), a nonprofit organization for the poor and homeless in Washington, DC. Additionally, Dr. Nunes worked part-time as a research assistant in the Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) Clinic at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland where he analyzed data involving fractures, bone mineral density, and bisphosphonate therapy in OI and cerebral palsy patients. His research was later published in Calcified Tissue International and Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. While at Tufts, Dr. Nunes was a recipient of the Tufts Merit Scholarship and was involved in various student organizations including Project Bridge, ASDA, and the Hispanic Dental Association.
Dr. Nunes moved to Dallas immediately after finishing dental school in 2012 and worked in private practice for two years before coming to The Grapevine Dentist in 2014. He decided to make DFW his permanent home in 2013 and settled down in Southlake with his wife, Holly. He has a son, Liam, in preschool and a one-year-old daughter, Julia. He enjoys spending his free time with his family; watching movies, exploring all Texas has to offer (especially the food), and traveling. Dr. Nunes enjoys being involved in the community and is always looking for new ways to give back. Patients seek treatment with Dr. Nunes for his patience, gentle touch, and calming personality.
Dr. Daniel Choi was born and raised in Ohio. He attended UCLA for an undergraduate degree in business and sociology. Upon graduating, Dr. Choi became interested in dentistry and pursued a degree at Ohio State University. Dr. Choi then furthered his education in Periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh.
Since arriving in Texas, Dr. Choi has quickly made a name for himself as the go-to Periodontist in the Dallas area. He is a Board Certified Periodontist that provides such services as implants, impacted wisdom teeth extractions, gum grafts, and LANAP® Laser Treatment, to name a few.

Dr. Merchant graduated from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine with his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2015. He has served as a Teaching Assistant in a pre-clinical endodontics course at Boston University. He was active in various leadership roles in his years at the dental school. Prior to attending the dental school, he attended Georgia State University where he received a Master of Science degree, and he has also received a Master of Public Administration degree from Kennesaw State University, Georgia.
Dr. Merchant is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Merchant has been practicing dentistry in the DFW area since 2015. He believes in providing individualized care to his patients and enjoys making his patients smile with his dental knowledge, skills, and competency.
Dr. Merchant likes going to the gym and spending leisure time with his family. He is active in several community initiatives and enjoys balancing his professional and social realms.
